John Herdman is a distinguished soccer coach known for his remarkable contributions to both the women’s and men’s national soccer teams of Canada. His journey in the world of soccer began in New Zealand, where his professional head coaching career began with the women’s national soccer team in 2006. After taking the helm of the Canada women’s national soccer team in 2011, he led them to multiple successes, including gold and bronze medals at the Pan American Games and Olympic Games, respectively. His remarkable leadership continued when he led the Canada men’s national soccer team to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, a feat which had not been achieved for 36 years. Today, he is the head coach of the Toronto FC.
