David Branch

Commissioner at Ontario Hockey League (OHL)

David became the Commissioner of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 1979. Under his leadership, the league has grown from 12 to 20 teams. David remained a part of the game of hockey as he served as the Secretary – Manager of the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) from 1973 – 1977. From 1977 until 1979, he was the Executive Director of the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA). For over 25 years, David has added duties of CHL President to his list of responsibilities, serving in this role from 1996 to 2019.
