At age 27, Kasten became the youngest General Manager in the NBA when he was appointed the position for the Atlanta Hawks. In 1986, he became President of the Hawks and the Atlanta Braves. When the NHL moved into Atlanta in 1999, Kasten became President of the Atlanta Thrashers. In 2003, he stepped down as President from all three teams. He later became President of the Washington Nationals in 2006, a position he held until 2010. For more than three decades, Kasten has been a highly-respected sports figure and has developed a reputation for creating winning sports franchises.
